FAQs

I received and email about missing a class, but I did attend. How do I get my strike removed?

You can email Toronto@AlteaActive.com for assistance.

How many strikes are you allowed before you receive a booking penalty?

If you receive 3 strikes within a 14-day rolling period, you will lose booking privileges until your strikes expire (14 days).

What is a strike?

If you book a Studio Fitness class through your MyAlteaActive app and do not attend, or you cancel your session with less than 4-hours notice, you will receive one strike. To avoid a strike, it is essential to check in with your studio instructor upon arrival at your class.

Studio Fitness Booking Policies:

Altea currently opens reservations through the MyAlteaActive app 48 hours prior to each class. Members are able to book on a first-in basis.  If you are not going to be able to make the class, we ask that you cancel at least 30 minutes prior to the class start time. This allows time for another member to fill your spot if you can’t make it!  Cancellations within 30 minutes of the class start time will be considered a late cancel, and you will receive a strike.

Can I Attend A Class If I Didn’t Book?

We accept walk-ins to each class if there is space available.

What is the temperature of the humidity in the Hot Yoga Studio?

Hot Yoga 40-45% relative humidity and 104-105 degrees Farenheit (40 degrees Celcius).

Are all classes on the schedule included in my membership?

Yes, all studio fitness classes are included in all levels of membership.

Do I need to have a valid certification to teach at Altea?

Yes, all Altea instructors are required to hold valid certifications in the discipline they teach.

Can my friend or family member come for a class with me? Is there an age limitation?

Yes, as long as they are over 12 years old AND a current member or visitor with a valid Guest Pass. Please note that guests are limited to walk-in availability for classes.

Does Altea Active cater to all fitness levels & age groups?

Yes, all classes provide progressions and modifications. We use acronyms for levels: E=Everyone, I=Intermediate, A=Advanced to help you choose the right level for your workout.

How often does your fitness schedule change?

The schedule is seasonal with slight changes for Summer/Fall/Winter/Spring. You could have a substitute instructor at any time due to the instructor’s illness, etc. The name will be displayed on the app.

You’ve advertised 180+ studio fitness classes. Are they included with my membership?

All members have full access to best-in-class boutique offerings within the clubs CYCLE Studio, Hot Yoga Studio, Fusion Studio, and Main Studio that will feature an amazing array of classes, including Anti-Gravity Fitness, boxing, dance, strength and more.

The LF3 small group training studio is a feature of the Diamond Membership, but is also available to other membership tiers with a drop-in fee. The Pilates Reformer Training will be available as an additional service for members.

What type of shoes or cleats do I need?

We recommend wearing cross training shoes over running shoes (The less flexible the better for cycling).  All bikes have straps to keep your feet on the pedals.

For those with cycle shoes, Altea’s Technogym bikes accommodate SPD/Shimano cleats.
