Altea acknowledges that our community, located in Edmonton, is situated within Treaty Six Territory, the traditional lands of the nêhiyaw (Cree), Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), Dene, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux, and Nakota Isga peoples, and the Homeland of the Métis Nation. This place, known as amiskwaciy-wâskahikan, has been a gathering place for Indigenous peoples since time immemorial. We recognize these Nations as the traditional stewards of this land and the North Saskatchewan River (Kisiskâciwanisîpiy) and its tributaries. We honour their enduring presence and connection to this territory, and uphold and uplift the voices and values of the Indigenous communities who call this place home.

We respect and affirm the Treaty Rights of all Indigenous Peoples across this land, acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and dedicate ourselves to moving forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
