Embrace Recovery

In many ways, post-workout recovery and full recovery days are just as important as those intense workout days. In fact, taking proper recovery can actually help make you a better athlete and healthier overall. Investing time in your recovery will help to enhance muscle development, improve mental health and stress, and reduce the risk of overuse injuries.

Beyond time itself, there are huge benefits to regular stretching, focused nutrition, proper hydration and ample sleep. Additionally, you could explore the benefits of massage and contrast therapy.

FAQs

I want to purchase a guest day pass; how do I do that?

Guest Passes are available at reception at a per-day cost of $49.95 (plus taxes). Guests will have in/out privileges throughout the same calendar day. Guests can book studio classes within a 4-hour window. Recovery services are available for guests at an additional cost.

Can I transfer my membership?

All memberships except for Platinum Flex have transfer privileges.

The stipulations surrounding a transfer are as follows:

  • Eligible members may only transfer their membership within their initial contract term.
  • Both the transferor and transferee must be present at the club to complete the membership transfer.
  • Members must pay a transfer fee, that may change at the sole discretion of Altea Active. Currently there are two options available for eligible members:
    1. Transfer Option 1:   Fee: $99.95 + tax.  New member joins at the current membership rate and receives the term remaining on the agreement.
    2. Transfer Option 2:  Fee: $249.95 + tax.  New member joins at the previous member’s membership rate and receives the term remaining on the agreement.

Is there a cancellation fee?

If you cancel outside the allotted window (24 hours for Private and Semi-Private, you will lose the session credit. It is counted as one of your sessions attended)
If you cancel outside the allotted window (12 hours for Small Group) sessions, you will be charged a fee of $15 + tax.

Do I have to find my own people to go into a Small Group session with?

No, you can just sign up for the session.

How do I sign up for a session?

You can sign up through myaltea.club or by talking to a Pilates instructor who can book you in for Private, Semi-Private, or Small Group sessions.

Do I wear socks or go barefoot?

It is mandatory to wear anti-slip socks so you don’t slip. These can be purchased at the front desk as needed.

How long before I will see results or feel results?

Some results will be immediate, such as feeling more energized, and stronger. Like any other program, results will vary based on the individual. Commitment, consistency and effort will determine the level of results you will see 🙂

How often should I do Reformer Pilates?

By participating in Reformer Pilates 2-3 times per week you will see and feel noticeable results. Our expert coaches will motivate and guide you to get the most out of your sessions.

Once I have bought my package, which class do I book into if I am “new” to the Reformer?

You would book into any “Foundations” class, which will orient you to the reformer and Pilates repertoire and be taught at a slower pace. You may also book into, Booty & Core, Upperbody & Core, and Cardio & Core as the instructor will teach to all levels in the class.

I am “new” to Reformer Pilates, which class package do I purchase?

We recommend you purchase the 4-Pack Small Group Package, or a Single Drop-in Small Group Session or Single Private Session. Any other semi-private packages may be purchased since the instructor will teach to all levels in the sessions, providing modifications as needed.
